One Mog - So Many Uses!
This Unimog U1200 belongs to Dorn Cox from New Hampshire, USA. Dorn has a diversified organic farm where they grow hay, high oil, sunflowers, small grains. They also have livestock and maintain a 160 acre woodlot in the winter and the Unimog plays a bit part in all of it. The Unimog is used all year round to help with snow removal, plowing, cultivating, haying, and brush clearing. He also uses it with a fork lift for fence work and barn building and it pulls an off-road dump trailer for road and pond construction, grain hauling and it tows a 30' flatbed with electric brakes for hay hauling. Is there nothing this Unimog can't do?!
To enable the Unimog to do all these jobs it has front and rear PTOs, 4 hydraulic circuits, 24 speed gearbox and a rear 3 point linkage provided by us and a rear swinging drawbar. He can also run 540 rpm and 1000 rpm implements from wood chippers to flail mowers and mower conditioners.
This year Dorn will be setting the Unimog up with a front roller/crimper and rear planter to enable single pass organic no-till planting. He loves using the unimog and working with it and from the sounds of things, he would be lost without it!
