Full time permanent position. Salary £20,000-£30,000
To manage workshop projects from point of sale through to customer handover, overseeing all aspects of the job, ensuring maximum efficiency at all times.
To lead and supervise a small team of mechanics, ensuring communication is effectively delivered both internally and also to customers and key suppliers with whom we have built excellent relationships.
Estimating time and parts required for work and monitoring the progress throughout to ensure work is carried out on time and within budget.
Maintaining and organising our parts stock and coming up with new ideas to improve existing systems.
Offering technical help/advice over the phone/face-to-face, problem solving, optimising results.
Monitoring safety procedures and ensuring HSE compliance at all times.
A mechanical/engineering history is absolutely essential (previous work with agricultural machines (pre-1990)/HGVs would be a distinct advantage).
Possession of sound technical knowledge and a willingness to learn about the way these unique vehicles work.
Basic IT literacy is important as this role will be largely office based. You will be expected to use internal database systems for recording and analysing information; Excel, Word and Outlook for email etc.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential to keep up with the fast pace here and to maintain effectiveness within our closely knit team.
